**Job Title**: Furniture Designer Intern

**Role Overview**:
As a Furniture Designer Intern, you will assist in the design and development of furniture products. You will work closely with the design team to create innovative and functional designs, from concept to production. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a professional environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Concept Development**:

- Assist in brainstorming and developing new furniture design concepts.
- Participate in design meetings and contribute creative ideas.
- Research current design trends, materials, and furniture-making techniques.
- **Design and Sketching**:

- Create detailed sketches and 3D models of furniture designs.
- Use design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Rhino to produce design drafts.
- Prepare and present design proposals to the team.
- **Prototype Development**:

- Assist in creating prototypes and mock-ups of furniture designs.
- Work with the production team to refine prototypes based on feedback.
- Participate in testing and evaluating prototypes for functionality and aesthetics.
- **Material Selection**:

- Research and recommend appropriate materials for furniture designs.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials.
- Ensure that selected materials meet design specifications and sustainability standards.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with the design team, production team, and other departments.
- Communicate design ideas and project updates effectively.
- Participate in client meetings and gather feedback to refine designs.
- **Documentation**:

- Maintain organized records of design drafts, prototypes, and project progress.
- Prepare technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
- Ensure all design documentation is accurate and up to date.
- **Learning and Development**:

- Continuously develop your design skills through hands-on projects and feedback.
- Attend workshops, training sessions, and industry events to stay updated on design trends and technologies.
- Take initiative to propose innovative solutions and improvements in design processes.

**Requirements**:

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar.
- Strong sketching and visualization skills.
- Basic understanding of furniture production processes and materials.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- A portfolio showcasing your design work is highly desirable.
