1. Payroll Processing: Collect and verify employee timesheets and attendance data. Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions. Process payroll on a regular schedule (e.g., weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). Ensure compliance with company policies and tax regulations during payroll calculations. 2. Employee Records Management: Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, salary changes, deductions, benefits, and leave. Update employee data as required (e.g., promotions, terminations, or changes in working hours). 3. Tax and Statutory Compliance: Calculate and deduct taxes (e.g., income tax, social security, and other mandatory contributions) accurately. Ensure payroll tax filings are completed on time. Liaise with tax authorities regarding payroll-related matters. 4. Reporting: Prepare regular payroll reports for management, including payroll summaries and variance analysis. Provide relevant payroll data for financial audits and budgeting processes. 5. Employee Inquiries: Address payroll-related questions and issues raised by employees, such as discrepancies in pay or tax queries. Assist employees with understanding payslips, deductions, and benefits. 6. Benefits Administration: Coordinate with HR to manage employee benefits, including health insurance, pensions, and other perks. Ensure proper deductions and contributions are reflected in payroll. 7. System Maintenance: Work with payroll software, ensuring the system is up-to-date with any legislative or internal changes. Troubleshoot and resolve payroll system issues in collaboration with IT or external providers. 8. Compliance and Auditing: Stay updated with changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and industry standards. Ensure payroll practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Assist with internal or external payroll audits.
