Job Summary:

The Area Sales Executive is responsible for driving sales and market share within a specific geographic area by managing relationships with distributors, retailers, and other key stakeholders. The role involves identifying sales opportunities, managing accounts, achieving sales targets, and ensuring the implementation of sales strategies to maximize revenue growth in the FMCG sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Target Achievement:

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets within the assigned area.
Monitor sales performance and take corrective actions as needed to meet targets.

Market Development:

Identify new sales opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate new markets.
Conduct market research to understand customer needs, preferences, and trends in the FMCG sector.
Expand the customer base by adding new distributors and retailers.

Account Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing distributors, retailers, and other stakeholders.
Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring that terms and conditions are favorable for the company.
Provide excellent customer service, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.

Sales Strategy Implementation:

Execute sales and marketing plans to promote the company's products.
Ensure product placement, visibility, and promotional activities are in line with company guidelines.
Work closely with the marketing team to implement promotional activities and campaigns.

Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and submit regular sales reports, including sales forecasts, market analysis, and competitor analysis.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure product availability.
Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Training and Development:

Train and mentor sales representatives or junior staff within the assigned area.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in sales and marketing.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in sales, preferably within the FMCG industry.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Strong understanding of the FMCG market, including key players, trends, and dynamics.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Willingness to travel within the assigned area.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in managing key accounts and working with distributors.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data.
Knowledge of local market conditions and consumer behavior.
