Job Description

Strategic Procurement Leadership

Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy covering direct, indirect, and CapEx categories.Align sourcing initiatives with organizational goals, production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets.Drive procurement digitalization, automation, and analytics-led decision-making.

Technology Transfer & Localisation

Lead the localisation roadmap by identifying import substitution opportunities and developing domestic vendor capabilities.Work closely with global engineering and technology partners to enable seamless technology transfers to India, ensuring compliance, IP protection, and quality assurance.Manage licensing, tooling, and technical collaboration aspects during new technology onboarding.

Vendor Development & Management

Establish a robust supplier development program to nurture a competitive and quality-oriented vendor base.Evaluate supplier performance metrics and ensure long-term strategic partnerships.Drive capacity building, quality improvement, and cost competitiveness among suppliers.

Operational Excellence

Oversee procurement operations to ensure timely availability of materials, cost control, inventory optimization, and working capital efficiency.Manage risk in the supply chain by developing alternate sources, ensuring business continuity planning.Lead negotiation efforts to achieve best value for the company across all categories.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Operations to align sourcing with new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-ups.Participate in strategic initiatives such as Make vs. Buy decisions, cost engineering, and product redesigns for cost reduction.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Automobile / Industrial); MBA in Supply Chain / Operations preferred.20+ years of experience in procurement and sourcing in the automotive component manufacturing industry.Proven track record of leading direct, indirect, and CapEx procurement with measurable impact on cost, quality, and delivery.In-depth exposure to technology transfer, localisation, and vendor development in an Indian or global MNC context.Strong negotiation, leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle) and procurement digital tools.
