Roles and Responsibilities

What we’re looking for: The Head of Prototyping will be responsible for leading the development of prototype vehicles as well as components. This person will manage the prototyping process from design to production, ensuring prototypes are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and experience with a range of prototyping technologies, including 3D printing, CNC machining, vacuum casting, welding, etc. What you will own and do: Develop and execute the company's prototyping strategy, ensuring it aligns with the overall business goals and vision. Lead the design and development of prototypes, working closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and product development. Manage the prototyping process from design to production, ensuring prototypes are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards. Oversee the use of prototyping technologies, including 3D printing, CNC machining, vacuum casting, welding, etc. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure prototypes are manufactured to the highest standards. This will be a minimal requirement. Most of the work will be done in house. Manage and mentor the prototyping team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of prototypes. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in prototyping technologies to ensure the company remains competitive and relevant in the marketplace. What you will bring to us: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team. Excellent technical skills and a deep understanding of a range of prototyping technologies, including 3D printing, CNC machining, vacuum casting, welding, etc. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in relevant software and technologies. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
