Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in PHP to join our development team in Bangalore. This role involves designing and implementing software subsystems and services, leading small development projects, and collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Responsibilities Analyze, design, document, code, and test software components of medium complexity.Provide accurate time estimates and progress reports for assigned tasks.Develop and maintain unit tests and functional prototypes.Collaborate with product management, QA, and system architects to ensure alignment with system requirements and design specifications.Participate in design and code reviews.Support management in evaluating technical issues, assessing risks, and recommending solutions.Mentor junior developers and delegate tasks as needed. Qualifications EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Experience5+ years of hands-on experience in PHP, including recent work with PHP 8.3 and Laravel .5+ years of hands-on experience in JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, CSS, and HTML.5+ years of experience with SQL Server, including Transact-SQL Stored Procedures.5+ years of hands-on experience with standard development tools (vscode IDE, Microsoft collaboration tools, PHP testing frameworks, Git version control, Datadog or similar monitoring tools, and Jira).Experience working with REST-like APIs.Knowledge of Apache web server configuration with virtual hosts and PHP-FPM pools.Experience in Windows development environment (VDI with XAMPP) and deploying applications on RHEL 8.10 VMs.Familiarity with shared NFS mounts, Azure App Gateway, and SSL offloading.Strong debugging, performance profiling, and optimization skills.Experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum).Basic understanding of multi-threading and concurrency.Skills & CompetenciesSolid understanding of technical and administrative procedures.Ability to resolve moderately complex issues and implement practical systems.Familiarity with cross-functional roles and collaboration.Capable of guiding and supporting team members.Strong sense of ownership and accountability for deliverables.Ability to prioritize tasks, solve procedural issues, and suggest process improvements.Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills and tact in complex situations.Impact & Strategic ContributionActs as a technical resource and informal mentor within the team.Delivers accurate and timely services in specialized areas.Identifies and solves procedural challenges with minimal supervision.Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and quality assurance.Strategic PlanningOperates within standardized frameworks while exercising judgment within defined practices.Identifies and resolves moderately complex procedural challenges.Engages in investigation and data gathering to solve problems.Prioritizes tasks effectively to meet goals and ensure quality outcomes.Proactively suggests improvements to existing processes and solutions.Customer FocusRegularly interacts with team members on complex issues.Maintains important and frequent contact with internal stakeholders, without requiring approval in challenging situations.Handles customer interactions with professionalism, tact, and courtesy, especially in complex scenarios.Capable of identifying and delivering solutions to non-standard customer requests.
