Note: JD is of GIS Architect but client is looking for GIS Developer experience and will offer a GIS Tech Lead position. 

Overview

Prodapt is seeking a highly skilled GIS Architect with extensive experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing GIS solutions and enterprise architectures. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in GIS platforms (such as IQGEO,GCOMMS, SMALL WORLD, ESRI, QGIS, and FME), spatial database management (Oracle Spatial, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), programming languages (Magik,Python, .NET), and experience integrating GIS systems with business operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

Enterprise GIS Architecture Design:

Lead the design and implementation of enterprise GIS architectures, including spatial data storage, data access, and data sharing mechanisms, ensuring robust and scalable GIS solutions aligned with business needs.

GIS Platform Integration and Customization:

Architect, configure, and integrate GIS software (like ArcGIS, QGIS) with enterprise systems. Customize front-end interfaces and develop custom commands to enhance GIS functionalities.

Spatial Database Management:

Design and manage spatial databases using Oracle Spatial, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. Ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and management of geospatial data to support diverse business operations.

Data Management and Workflows:

Develop and implement data workflows, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data mapping, and data cleansing, to ensure data quality and integrity across GIS systems.

Geospatial Toolkits and Application Development:

Utilize geospatial toolkits (such as MapInfo, PostGIS, and GeoServer) for developing GIS applications and solving complex geospatial problems.

API and Web Services Integration:

Architect and implement REST, SOAP, WFS, and WMS APIs to enhance GIS functionalities and enable seamless integration with other enterprise systems.

Solution Optimization and Performance:

Continuously optimize GIS solutions to improve performance, scalability, and data accuracy. Stay updated with the latest GIS technologies and methodologies to drive innovation and maintain system efficiency.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver GIS solutions that meet business needs.

Documentation and Training:

Create comprehensive documentation of GIS architectures, data workflows, and integration processes. Provide training and support to end-users and technical teams.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

Expertise in GIS Platforms: Extensive experience with GIS platforms (ESRI, QGIS, FME).

Spatial Database Management: Advanced knowledge in managing spatial databases using Oracle Spatial, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.

Programming Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python, .NET.

Front-End Development: Proficient in front-end development technologies (React, JavaScript).

API and Web Services: Experience with web services (WFS, WMS) and API integration.

Data Management: Proven experience in building ETL scripts, data mapping, and data cleansing.

Geospatial Tools: Familiarity with geospatial tools and frameworks (MapInfo, PostGIS, GeoServer).

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Domain Expertise: Strong domain knowledge of telecom and utility networks.

Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze complex business problems and recommend effective GIS solutions.
