The Steel and Metal Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and prototyping furniture pieces made from steel, aluminum, and other metals. This role involves close collaboration with the product development, engineering, and production teams to bring innovative metal furniture concepts to life—ensuring both visual appeal and structural integrity.

Job Description (JD) - Design Engineer – Steel and Metal Furniture

Design and develop innovative steel furniture products such as tables, chairs, shelves, and storage units.
Prepare 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
Perform structural analysis of steel furniture to ensure durability and stability.
Select materials and finishes based on aesthetic, functional, and cost considerations.
Conduct research on trends in furniture design and material innovation.
Develop prototypes for testing and modify designs based on feedback.
Assist in developing cost estimates for production, assembly, and materials.
Prepare technical documentation and design presentations for stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Essential : at least 5 years of experience as a Design Engineer in the steel furniture industry
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
Understanding of manufacturing processes for steel furniture (welding, cutting, bending, etc.).
Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
A strong portfolio of previous design work is a plus.
