Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Transaction Modeler to join our credit and strategy team. This role requires expertise in building sophisticated cash flow models for asset-backed securitization and project finance transactions, with strong technical skills and experience working directly with credit rating agencies. The ideal candidate will combine deep analytical capabilities with practical transaction execution experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model Development & Analysis
  • Design and build complex Excel-based cash flow models for asset-backed securitization transactions across multiple asset classes
  • Analyze securitization documents, deal criteria, and structural features to accurately model transaction mechanics
  • Perform scenario analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis on transaction structures
  • Validate model outputs against transaction documents and regulatory requirements
  • Technical Development
  • Develop and maintain VBA macros and automated processes to enhance model efficiency and accuracy
  • Utilize Python for data analysis, model validation, and process automation
  • Create dynamic reporting tools and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
  • Implement best practices for model governance and version control
  • Transaction Support
  • Collaborate with origination, structuring, and capital markets teams throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Support due diligence processes and provide analytical insights on portfolio performance
  • Assist in pricing analysis and optimization of transaction structures

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
  • 8-10 years of experience in structured finance, securitization, or related analytical role
  • Proven track record of building Excel-based cash flow models for securitization transactions

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis tools, and model architecture
  • Strong programming skills in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation
  • Experience with securitization documentation and legal structures
  • Direct experience negotiating with credit rating agencies

Knowledge & Competencies

  • Deep understanding of asset-backed securitization mechanics and structures
  • Familiarity with various asset classes (including ideally securitizations related to hard assets such as data centers, energy, transportation and real estate, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with derivatives pricing models and methodologies
  • Knowledge of stochastic modelling techniques and Monte Carlo simulations
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks and regulatory capital requirements
  • CFA, FRM, or other relevant professional certifications
  • Experience with database management and SQL
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (Basel III)
  • Prior experience at rating agencies, investment banks, or asset managers
