Information Technology Infrastructure Manager

About the RoleWe are hiring an IT Infrastructure Manager to manage and evolve the core technology infrastructure of a private university. This role focuses on ensuring stable, secure, and well-integrated IT systems that support academic delivery and administrative operations across the institution.The right candidate brings hands-on experience with open-source technologies used in university environments, strong networking and security fundamentals, and the ability to work effectively with external agencies providing academic and administrative software platforms.ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day operations and long-term planning of the university’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud servicesEnsure high availability and performance of academic and administrative systems such as ERP, LMS, student information systems, examination platforms, finance, HR, and admissions systemsLead the deployment, customization, and maintenance of open-source software used across teaching, learning, and administrationManage integration between multiple systems to ensure smooth data flow and consistent user experience across departmentsCoordinate with external software vendors, open-source service providers, and implementation partnersOversee network design, monitoring, and optimization across campus (wired, wireless, VPN, firewalls)Implement and maintain strong security controls, access management, data protection, and backup policiesTroubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, network, and application-level issues with a practical, problem-solving approachWork closely with academic offices, administration, and IT teams to translate functional needs into reliable technical solutionsMaintain system documentation, operational procedures, and compliance standardsQualificationsAssociate to mid-senior level experience managing IT infrastructure in an educational or similar multi-department environmentStrong knowledge of open-source technologies commonly used in universities (Linux systems, open-source databases, web servers, LMS platforms, identity management tools, etc.)Solid understanding of networking concepts including routing, switching, wireless networks, firewalls, and VPNsPractical experience implementing security best practices for campus networks and enterprise systemsHands-on experience integrating academic and administrative platformsProven ability to manage external agencies and software providersHigh problem-solving ability with a structured, calm approach to incident resolutionClear communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersPreferred SkillsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related fieldExperience working in private universities or large education service organizationsFamiliarity with virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and backup/disaster recovery solutionsExposure to campus-wide authentication and role-based access systemsWhy Join UsA leadership role with direct impact on academic delivery and administrative efficiencyOpportunity to modernize and integrate university-wide systemsA fast-moving, decision-driven private university environment
