Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure these events are productive and adhere to SAFe and Scrum principles.
- Guide the team in applying Agile best practices and improving team dynamics.
- Mentor team members on effective collaboration and communication.
- Act as a servant-leader by identifying and removing roadblocks that hinder the team’s progress.
- Escalate issues to relevant stakeholders when necessary.
- Encourage team reflection on performance and help implement actionable improvements.
- Use metrics like team velocity, burn-down charts, and flow efficiency to identify improvement areas.
- Collaborate with the Release Train Engineer (RTE) to align the team with program goals and cadence.
- Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and ensure team contributions align with the objectives.
- Facilitate the team's participation in system demos and ART-level ceremonies and coordinate dependencies with other teams in the train.
- Actively engage in Scrum of Scrums meetings to report team progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Assist Product Owners in maintaining a clear, prioritized backlog.
- Ensure stories are well-defined, ready for development, and aligned with program objectives.
- Foster a culture of quality by promoting practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
- Encourage team adherence to Definition of Done (DoD) and Definition of Ready (DoR).
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to team delivery.
Key Skills for a 5–7 Year Experienced Scrum Master in SAFe:
- Deep understanding of SAFe principles and ceremonies.
- Proficiency in Agile tools like Jira, Rally, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
- Advanced coaching and mentoring capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple teams or a complex team environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration with both technical and business stakeholders.
