Position: Assistant Manager

Experience: 8 to 10 years in Finance and India Tax

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • CA/CA – Inter/ CMA/MBA
  • Tally Accounting Software – Must have good proficiency
  • Workday preferred but not mandatory
  • Excel – Must have good proficiency
  • Proficiency in Word, Adobe, PPT, Outlook
  • Exposure to Data analytics tools, preferred but not mandatory.
  • Past experience of financial statement reviews, preparation of complex statements, etc.
  • Prior supervisory and training experience, prior accounting software experience, prior business management experience
  • Accurate and effective writing and verbal communication to convey information to firm associates, including boiling technical matters and jargon into plain English
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively
  • Ability to work independently under tight time schedules
  • Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions
  • Ability to identify, address and resolve consultants/ vendors concerns
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, personal objectivity and professional skepticism
  • Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to be flexible with scheduling to meet workflow demands

Under the direction of the Manager/Director Finance, the Assistant Manager works on India finance and tax deliverable in a timely fashion, with the expected quality in accordance with organization policies and procedures. Assistant Manager works closely with the team to deliver collective output for the firm on a timely manner. He/She coaches the junior/senior staff members in the team to improve their skills, quality and competencies. Responsible for review of Financial Statements, compliance and tax returns, team's task planning, reviews, best practices, etc.

NOTE : This is a leadership role. The candidates should have experience and exposure to most of the areas mentioned in responsibilities and expectation section below.

Core Responsibilities

Finance and Accounts -

  • Reviewing and analyzing the accounting work completed by fellow associates
  • Timely closure of Monthly financials
  • Preparing Monthly Fixed Asset statement and Depreciation
  • Variance report analysis
  • Audit finalization
  • Supporting on budgetary process
  • Preparing MIS as required.

Income Tax:

  • Withholding tax
  • Advance tax working
  • Annual returns
  • Familiar with other tax provision as required for business expenditure
  • Operationalizing any changes in tax law from time to time.
  • Department audits

Transfer pricing (TP):

  • Good knowledge on Transfer pricing mechanism
  • Ability to contribute on 92D documents.
  • Ability to contribute on annual returns filing.
  • TP audits.

GST:

  • Monthly returns
  • ITC/2A reconciliation
  • SEZ compliance on IGST exemption
  • RCM
  • Refund of GST
  • Annual returns and audit
  • Handling GST audit
  • Managing all documents, report and data required as per GST regulation.

ROC compliance (for LLP)

  • Partners meet documentation
  • Annual returns
  • Updating necessary statutory registers and documents from time to time.
  • Submission of Declaration and other regulatory documents

Other compliance

  • FLA and softex survey reports (RBI)
  • STPI
  • Export regulation documents
  • Foreign Exchange guidelines on inward and outward remittance
  • MSME act reporting.
  • Able to lead and contribute on any automation or digital adoption for finance and compliances process
  • Able to contribute on any M&A, ODC setup and other special projects for the firm
  • Preparing the required documentation or manual or handbook for finance and compliance team activities.

Role expectations:

  • Work on the assigned organizational audit/accounting/tax work to produce the expected result in timely manner.
  • Coach and guide the assigned associates on advanced accounting practices & methodologies, financial statement preparation, complex areas
  • Meet the communication and documentation standards to produce the expected and related work
  • Participate in improving the processes, practices, tools & systems.
  • Participate in advisory initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other team members to assist them with the deliverables or dependencies.
  • Preparation & review of complex financial statements/audit areas, related communication, etc.
  • Participate in staffing planning, practice related activities, hiring, etc.
  • Team management: Task allocation, tracking, reviews, coaching, issue resolution, etc.
  • Close check on team dynamics, disciplines and focus
  • Associate engagement on issue resolutions, applying Outward Mindset tools and learning, proactive coaching, mentoring, etc.
  • Involvement in firm leadership initiatives, problem solving, solutioning, etc.
  • Skill development and leadership development
