Dayananda Sagar University (www.dsu.edu.in) came into existence by an Act of the Karnataka State in 2014 and hascharismatically built upon its immaculate legacy and is inspired by its own milestones - meeting the needs of quality higher education in this part of the world.Program CoordinatorJOBTITLE/ POSISTION : Professor / Associate ProfessorREPORTING TO : Director, CDOECentre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE)LOCATION: BangalorePrefer candidates from BangaloreJOB PURPOSE:Overall smooth functioning of a program development, delivery and Assessment of learners enrolled to Online programs to be offered by Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), Bangalore.Overall Business: New Learner Acquisition, Engagement, retention and assessment of learners until they successfully complete programs.WORK RELATIONS:Internal Interface – Deputy Director, Assist Director, Course Coordinators, Course Mentors, Admission office and Examination teamExternal Interface – Students, Content Authors, Industry Experts and Subject Matter ExpertsReporting – Director, CDOECRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Coordinate development of e-content to meet online delivery requirements as laid down in guidelines for ONLINE deliveryCreate and Review e-content, AV Content, and Presentation materials used for online delivery and suggest improvements to meet Online delivery guidelinesSchedule / manage calendar to engage learners using Discussion forumsReview ongoing engagement of online counselling / Webinars / live lectures and suggest measures to increase learner participation in online engagement activities.Contribute to case studies/research and carry out periodic reviews to meet quality standards for online delivery of Live Classes during the Weekend (minimum 1 Session per week per Course)Handling queries on the discussion forum (2 Synchronous sessions in a week per Course)Actively participate in IQAC activities and contribute to process improvement to meet quality standards laid down in online delivery guidelinesCoordinate timely completion of activities pertained to Setting up of assignment questions, MCQ for continuous evaluation & University examination question papers.Monitor Project guidance related activities and suggest measures to complete timely submission of Project thesis and viva voce,Carry out monthly reviews of delivery and assessment-related activities as per timelines drawn in the Academic calendarCarry out Academic Administrative functions for smooth functions of Online delivery programsSUPERVISION:Direct reports Course coordinatorsIndirect reports Course mentorsKEY SUCCESS FACTOR:Meeting quality measures, accuracy & timelines in all academic tasksMaximise Learner engagement / retentionReduce course DropoutTimely completion of course by studentsMAJOR CHALLENGES:Measure to engage learners continuously and reduce dropoutsSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:Qualification and Experience:Ph.D. in respective subject area with minimum 8 years of Teaching experience in the University/ College excluding the period of Ph.D. research with minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.Academic Administrative experience of minimum 5 years University / college as Program coordinatorNET/SLET qualifiedSkills and KnowledgeStrong analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills. A passion for teaching and engaging with students.A good record of attending conferences and academic events.
