Design Engineer (Environmental Risks)- Environment Studies
(4-8 YEARS EXPERIENCE)
Job Summary
• The Design Engineer (Environmental Risk) shall perform environmental and safety risk assessment for the assigned project used recognized models, tools and methods. He/ She shall contribute on various environmental studies including risk assessment, environmental site assessment, Green House Gas (GHG) emission estimation and environmental modelling studies.
Key Responsibilities (Financial)
• Ensure responsibilities are fulfilled with a high quality cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities (Customer Focus)
• Support Project Managers with the management of client relations and expectations, as needed
• Support Project Managers with responding to client clarifications and technical issues, as needed
• Ensure client satisfaction with environmental studies deliverables
Key Responsibilities (Internal Business Process)
• Contribution to environmental studies and reporting in hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Conducting desktop and site risk assessment and preparation of Environmental Site Assessment reports
• Conducting GHG estimation and air and noise prediction studies for the assigned projects.
• Assessing project designs with respect to international guidelines and making recommendations using recognized practices of environmental risk assessment studies.
Key Responsibilities (Learning & Growth)
• Upload deliverables into the knowledge management repository as per policies and procedures
• Attend periodic training to further develop relevant skills
Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies
• B.E/B.Tech in Environmental Engineering/ Chemical Engineering or similar
• Preferably (M.Tech / M.E in relevant discipline)
• Hazard Analysis (PHA), HAZID, HAZOP
• Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) using recognized software
• Maximum Credible Accident Analysis (MCA analysis)
• Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) or Event Tree Analysis (ETA)
• Preparation of Process flow diagrams (P&IDs), Cause & Effect Charts
• Green House Gas (GHG) emissions studies
• Climate Change Modelling
• Estimation of greenhouse gas emission
• Air Quality Modelling
• Noise Modelling
• Knowledge and exposure of field measurement of ambient air quality, noise levels at site
• Understanding of international engineering standards, regional environmental regulations and codes
• Good quantitative and analytical skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in major Gulf projects is an advantage.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
Overall Experience Required to Execute this Role
• 4+ years of professional experience in risk assessment studies/environmental studies/EIA studies.
• Adequate knowledge exposure of international guidelines and recognized practices
• Related experience in infrastructure projects, site risk assessment, desktop analysis and other environmental studies
Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Willing to travel abroad on long/short missions.
• Previous experience in major Gulf projects is an advantage.
• Good at content development, report writing and presentation skills
• Good Interpersonal Skills.
