One of our early-stage AI portfolio companies building in the healthcare space is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager as one of their first tech hires.ResponsibilitiesDrive architectural decisions, establish engineering standards, and mentor the existing team while scaling to 10+ engineersBuild reliable agent orchestration using Temporal workflows and modern agentic frameworks.Lead hiring for critical technical roles, establish engineering culture, and build processes that scaleTake end-to-end responsibility for system reliability, performance, and compliance in revenue-critical environmentsNavigate HIPAA compliance, healthcare regulations, and audit requirements at the architectural levelQualificationsFormer founder strongly preferred or significant early-stage startup experience (pre-Series A)5-7 years building production systems that handle real user problemsBuilt at least one indie project involving AI/automationStrong engineering fundamentals: distributed systems, databases, cloud infrastructureExperience with Python, workflow orchestration tools, AWS ecosystemExperience attracting and managing high-quality talentComfortable with healthcare/fintech-level regulatory requirementsPlease apply to this role directly on LinkedIn.
