Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator

Location: HO / Thane

Experience: 1–5 years

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team at Future Generali. This role will focus on the administration and maintenance of Oracle databases supporting key investment and finance applications. The ideal candidate will manage user access, ensure data integrity, perform backups and restorations, and handle patch management, while working closely with internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • User Management: Administer Oracle database user ID creation, deletion, and modifications, ensuring proper user access and security.
  • Access Control: Manage and assign user rights to Oracle databases based on business requirements and security protocols.
  • Database Coordination: Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams (including database and application partners) to resolve issues and ensure smooth database operations.
  • Backup & Restoration: Oversee backup and restoration processes for Oracle databases, ensuring data availability and integrity.
  • Patch Management: Implement and manage database patches according to vendor instructions and system requirements.
  • User Access Review: Conduct bi-annual reviews of user access, collaborating with system owners to ensure compliance and security.
  • 24/7 Support: Provide support within the designated hours (1 AM to 8 PM) to ensure database availability, particularly around NAV closing.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration (installation, configuration, performance tuning, etc.).
  • Proficient in SQL and query optimization.
  • Experience with Windows systems and server administration.
  • Knowledge of backup, restoration, and patch management processes for Oracle databases.
  • Strong problem-solving and coordination skills, especially when working with vendors.
  • Ability to perform regular user access reviews and ensure database security.

Relevant Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Previous experience supporting investment, finance, or similar applications is a plus.
