Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team at LAIA India starting from December. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of the mechanical systems and robots that form the backbone of our LML System. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Robot Design and Development: Design, develop, and build robots from scratch for automated goods transportation and warehousing, such as AGV, and AS/RS systems.
- Prototyping and Fabrication: Create prototypes, fabricate components, and assemble robotic systems, ensuring high-quality and reliable performance.
- CAD Design: Utilize CAD software (e.g., SOLIDWORKS) to create detailed mechanical designs and schematics for robotic systems and components.
- System Integration: Work closely with electronics and robotics engineers to integrate mechanical components with electronic control systems.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct tests and validation procedures to ensure the mechanical integrity and performance of robotic systems.
- Optimization: Continuously optimize mechanical designs for performance, efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of designs, tests, and procedures.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Procurement and management of necessary parts for prototyping and building.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on robotics.
- Proven experience in designing and building robots from scratch, such as AGV, and AS/RS systems.
- Experience with prototyping and fabrication techniques.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with kinematics, dynamics, and control of robotic systems.
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing) and CNC machining.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Experience in developing logistics or automation systems.
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI for robotics applications.
- Understanding of urban infrastructure and environmental impact considerations.
- Experience in AS/RS systems.
