Job Description

The Lead Ops – Support role is vital for maintaining the operational integrity of our IT systems. This position involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability.


This is a hybrid role to Chennai office.


Responsibilities:

  • 24/7 Support Rotation : Engage in on-call support to respond to incidents and ensure system uptime.
  • Lead  a team  of Sr. Ops Support Engineers and own the application.
  • Should possess leadership skills  and strong expertise in managing a team. Should also possess knowledge on how IT services work.
  • Daily Stand-ups : Participate in daily meetings to share updates and address challenges.
  • Data Management : Handle data uploads and ensure data integrity during processes.
  • Certificate Management : Renew Spiffe/certificates and manage security credentials for services.
  • Responsible for Creation of RFCs using Service Now.
  • Order Management : Address failed orders by implementing repush strategies.
  • Task Management: Utilize Jira for effective task management and tracking.
  • Release Management : Coordinate release management activities to ensure smooth deployments.
  • SRE Practices: Apply Site Reliability Engineering principles to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Monitoring : Monitor Grafana dashboards and Slack alerts to act on system anomalies.
  • Resource Managemen t: Adjust pod and memory configurations based on demand and performance metrics.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:  Diagnose and resolve operational issues, escalating complex problems as necessary to ensure timely resolution.


Qualifications

  • Experience : 7+ years in Lead operations or support roles within IT.
  • Technical Skills : Strong working knowledge of GCP and Kubernetes.
  • Scripting : Proficient in shell scripting and Python for automation and monitoring tasks.
  • Experience  with Terraform along with ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools.
  • CI Tools : Familiarity with Jenkins and continuous integration practices.
  • Version Control: Experience with Git, GitHub Actions, and Bitbucket for version control.
  • Monitoring Tools : Proficient in using Grafana for system monitoring and alerting.
  • Agile Methodologies : Familiar with Scrum and Agile practices for team collaboration.
  • Microservices Understanding : Collaborate effectively within a microservices architecture to ensure seamless integration and performance.
  • Communication : Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Release Management Tools : Experience utilizing software release management tools such as JIRA.
