Product Development Engineer

We excited to invite applications for a Product Development Engineer role for our client, a leading manufacturer of solar PV mounting systems.


Preferred Industry: Luxury Automobile companies or top tier Aviation companies


Responsibilities:

 Innovate, conceive, design, engineer, and develop new products and/or improve existing products and document results in engineering and/or test reports.

 Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or CATIA for creating 2D and 3D models.

 Knowledge of engineering analysis and simulation tools like Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate designs.

 Understanding of drafting standards and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for creating detailed engineering drawings.

 Strong understanding of engineering principles, including engineering mechanics, and material science, to ensure designs meet performance requirements.

 Knowledge of the strength of materials, including stress analysis, fatigue, and fracture mechanics, to design components that withstand operational loads.

 Understanding of various manufacturing processes such as extrusions, forging, casting, injection molding, and additive manufacturing (3D printing).

 Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and efficiency.


Preferred Qualifications

 Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Industrial Engineering or similar required, Master of Science in Engineering preferred.

 Overall, 5 years new product development experience preferred.

 Innovative, think creatively, be hands-on and mechanically inclined.

 Comfortable with hand tools and familiarity with machine tools (mill, lathe, saw, etc.) preferred.
