Product Development Engineer

Our team at FICOSA is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our ranks. As a key member of our product development process, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal use of standardized solutions in all product development processes for our business unit clients.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS- Collaborate with the Product Engineering Master to ensure the product's technical feasibility during the bid and development stages, adhering to the Ficosa Development System (FDS) methodology.
- Review designs under the supervision of the Master in Design, and effectively manage product modifications at all stages.
- Ensure that prototypes are developed and delivered per the plans defined with the client.
- Participate in product and process FMEA's.
- Analyze the results of the product technical test reports, and find the necessary technical countermeasure solutions with the Quality Design Engineer.
- Propose Technical Lessons Learned in the industrialization phase, working with manufacturing teams.
- Support the business unit's competitiveness, improving costs, quality, and product performance, adopting new technical solutions from analyzing the competition, and benchmarking, providing technical support to assembly plants.
- Cooperate with Purchasing dept. and suppliers to ensure optimization of components in terms of cost, quality, and manufacturability.
- Ensure CAD (3D & 2D) design development.
- Address client engineering for effective product development.
- Participate in patent generation, according to Engineering Master and Intellectual Property area guidelines and recommendations.
- Observe FICOSA's Code of Ethics to avoid fraudulent practices. Comply with Information Security Management System (ISMS) applicable to the job, along with the training related thereto.
- Provide the team with the necessary means to comply with OHSE rules, ensuring they are properly used.
- Actively cooperate in maintaining, promoting, and improving the OHSE and Quality department.

POSITION REQUIREMENTSAcademic background: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
Languages: Fluent English (spoken and written)
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar position
OTHER SPECIFICATIONSAdditional training: Knowledge of R&D Tools (FDS, problem solving, FMEA, GDT, DOE, etc) would be of additional value
Additional languages: Another language, depending on the project/business, would be of additional value
