JD - Assistant Director of Sales

Your role:

The Wedding Company (Betterhalf) is seeking a dynamic and experienced “Assistant Sales Director” to join our team and drive the growth of our wedding planning and execution services business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales management, with experience in selling high-ticket items to consumers in industries such as interior design, automotive, real estate, edtech, jewelry, and more.

Excellent communication skills and a passion for the wedding/services industry are essential. You will play a crucial role in expanding our business and ensuring the success of our sales initiatives. If you have the skills and enthusiasm to excel in this role, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
  • Set sales targets and create plans to meet and exceed them.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and support a high-performing sales team in a positive, goal-focused environment.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build strong client relationships, understand their needs, and lead negotiations to maximize sales.

Sales Operations:

  • Oversee the sales process, monitor performance, and implement improvements. Use CRM software to track leads and manage accounts.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify wedding industry trends, analyze sales data, and identify trends and growth areas. Strong analytical skills are essential.

Requirements:

  • You should have experience in building marketplaces and leading a sales team of at least 50 people.
  • You should have delivered $5M ARR or more in revenue to your previous company.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software.
  • Availability to travel as needed.
  • Must be willing to work on weekends (1 weekday off)
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing (MBA preferred), preferably from a top-tier university.

Required Experience: 10-15 years (B2C sales experience in large ticket size)
