ARCNet is a non-profit applied research initiative housed at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Inspired by the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) and led by Dhruv Gupta, ARCNet collaborates closely with ARTPARK, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and the Government of Karnataka (GoK) to address real-world challenges through foundational research and development.
About the Role
We are developing advanced AI tools in collaboration with IISc faculty and industry partners. We are seeking Senior Developers to guide project development, mentor junior team members, and help ensure our codebase adheres to best practices. This role is well-suited to individuals who have a strong research orientation and are interested in contributing to impactful, technology-driven solutions while taking a break from traditional corporate roles. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement for approximately 20-30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and guide a team of developers, providing technical and strategic oversight.
Review and enhance code quality, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and standards.
Collaborate with faculty, industry partners, and internal teams to define project requirements and milestones.
Drive R&D-oriented initiatives and support the development of novel AI-based solutions.
Mentor junior developers in problem-solving, technical decision-making, and professional growth.
Qualifications
2-5 years of professional experience in a multinational corporate setting.
Demonstrated experience working on projects with a strong R&D focus, including impactful publications or contributions to open-source initiatives.
Proven ability to lead technical teams, review code, and implement best practices.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
