About the role: Want to build at the cutting edge of immersive shopping experiences? The Visual Innovation Team is at the center of all advanced visual and immersive content at Amazon. We're pioneering VR and AR shopping, CGI, and GenAI. We are looking for a 3D Tech Artist/ Design Technologist who will help drive innovation in this space who understands technical problems the team may face from an artistic perspective and provide creative technical solutions.
This role is for if you want to be a part of:

* Partnering with world-class artists and scientists to drive innovation in 3D content creation
Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a 3D Tech Artist/ Design Technologist who can deliver pragmatic solutions to the technical problems related to Amazon visual experiences (AR, video, interactive & still imagery). The right person will bring an implicit understanding of the balance needed between artistry, communication, and partnership-help scale 3D content creation within Amazon by enabling our customers with -- to work smarter, not harder.
In this role, you willl:
* Act as a bridge between art and engineering disciplines to solve multi-disciplinary problems
* Seek out and develop solutions to resolve workflow bottlenecks or asset quality issues through standardization and automation
* Collaborate with other tech artists and engineers to build and maintain a centralized suite of artist tools
* Work with art leadership to research and implement the latest industry trends that expand our production capabilities.
* Advise on the creation and maintenance of asset pipelines for partner teams looking to adopt 3D content
A day in the life
As a 3D Tech Artist will include but is not limited to coding and development of tools, workflows, and automation to improve the artist's experience and increase productivity. A day could look like programming in unreal blueprints to advance real-time visuals. Developing tools for Maya/Substance to creating an automation workflow that advances the fidelity of 3D/CGI experiences. An ideal candidate is observant, creative, curious, and empathetic. They believe that there is never just one approach to solve a given problem.

About the team: Amazon Imaging is building one of the world's best online shopping experience through photography, video, 3D, graphic design, and usability design enabling millions of customers to make more informed purchasing decisions. Imaging at Amazon is a large and fast-growing network of teams located throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, focusing on fashion and product photography, photo retouching, graphic design, video and CGI production, automated image acquisition, and image support services. Amazon is continually innovating and setting new industry standards for showcasing tens of millions of products across multiple global marketplaces. Amazon is obsessed with innovating on behalf of its customers, and continually push beyond the boundaries of traditional e-commerce photography and videography.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper experience
- Have coding samples in front end programming languages
- Experience with web, mobile web, or mobile app front-end development
- Experience with UI design for complex workflows and for end users
- Have an available online portfolio
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of technologies such as JavaScript/NodeJS, HTML/CSS, Responsive/Adaptive Design
- Knowledge of Python, Javascript, and source control (Git)
