Roles & responsibilities

A Senior UI/UX Designer is an experienced professional responsible for creating intuitive, user-centered designs while also guiding and mentoring junior designers. They play a critical role in ensuring the overall quality and consistency of the design work produced by the team.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Design Execution

Wireframing: Develop wireframes and user flows to outline the structure and functionality of new features.

Interaction Design: Design interactive elements and ensure seamless user interactions.

2. User Research and Testing

User Research: Conduct and analyze user research to gather insights into user behaviors, needs, and pain points.

Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate design decisions and gather feedback.

Data-Driven Design: Use analytics and data to inform design improvements and iterations.

3. Collaboration

Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.

Design Reviews: Participate in and conduct design reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and receiving feedback on your own work.

Client Interaction: Engage with clients or end-users to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into the design process.

4. Design Systems and Standards

Design Systems: Contribute to and help maintain the organization’s design system to ensure consistency across all products and platforms.

Style Guides: Develop and enforce style guides and design standards.

5. Mentorship and Leadership

Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers.

Leadership: Lead design projects and initiatives, taking ownership of the design process from concept to completion.

6. Problem Solving

Complex Problem Solving: Tackle complex design challenges and find creative solutions that meet user and business needs.

Iterative Design: Embrace an iterative design process, continually refining and improving designs based on feedback and testing.

7. Task Management

Task Prioritization: Manage and prioritise tasks effectively, ensuring timely delivery of design work.

Project Assistance: Provide support on various projects, handling smaller tasks and contributing to larger design initiatives.

8. Keeping Up with Industry Trends

Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to ensure the use of best practices.

Innovation: Bring fresh ideas and innovative design solutions to the table.

Skills and Qualifications:

Design Tools Proficiency: Expert proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, etc.

Prototyping: Strong skills in creating interactive prototypes.
