This role offers a hybrid work option, meaning you can both work from home and commute to a Linked In office, depending on what’s best for you and when it is important for your team to be together. We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with engineering and operations teams to help plan, write, and edit external engineering documentation at Linked In. Please have 2-3 samples of your writing available to send on request. Provide an explanation of your role for each sample.Responsibilities : Write and organize external engineering documentation and make it accessible and useful to engineers. Document complex internal and external APIs, infrastructure, systems, tools, and software engineering practices. Work with engineers and teams to help solve their information problems. Represent the Technical Documentation team on project teams and perform technical project leadership roles, while fostering teamwork and collaboration within and across work groups. Assist with engineering blog posts, conference papers, and presentations. Anticipate issues and address them proactively. Plan, coordinate, and execute documentation projects under very general direction. Participate in documentation craftsmanship efforts, including design and development of documentation distribution systems, writing and editing processes, and best practices. Help to improve the process of organizing and generating documentation. Basic Qualifications : 2+ years experience as a technical writer Experience with API writing and development procedures, designing and organizing content for existing/new API products Experience working with customer support teams and clients to collect requirements for doc updates B. A. or B. S. in Technical Communications, Computer Science, or a related field Preferred Qualifications : 4+ years experience as a technical writer 1+ years of developer experience with BE/B-Tech in Computer Science or IT Excellent written and Verbal communication skills Strong work ethic and drive for high-quality results Strong organizational skills Prior experience in Internet technology Knowledge of Python, Java, or other programming language Experience with in-code documentation systems (such as Sphinx) Suggested Skills : Technical Blog Writing Developer Guides & Tutorials REST API, GIT, MD File Formatting, Release Stakeholder Management Planning and Project Management You will Benefit from our Culture: We strongly believe in the well-being of our employees and their families.
