St. Jude India ChildCare Centres (St. Judes) bridges the gap between medical treatment and holistic care that is required by a child undergoing cancer treatment. It provides them with a hygienic, protective, and nurturing environment, which gives children the best chance of beating cancer.

Founded in 2006 by Shyama and Nihal Kaviratne, and a dedicated group of volunteers, St Judes offers a home away from home to underprivileged families during their child’s treatment for cancer. It provides children battling cancer, and their parents, accommodation, transportation facilities, counselling, educational and recreational activities along with art-based therapies and yoga without any cost.

About the Role

Location : Mumbai

Reporting to:  Chief Financial Officer

Staff Reporting:  Accounts team

Key Responsibilities:


·        Overall responsibility of handling accounting & finances of St. Jude including MIS , investments, projects, compliances, secretarial deliverables etc

·        Monitoring and developing additional accounting processes for accounting and finance.

·        Developing/ reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for All India finance and documenting the same.

·        Ensuring statutory compliances including FCRA, ROC, MHA and any other compliances as may be applicable from time to time with regard to finance & accounts and monitoring/controlling compliances for other functions viz. HR, Admin, Fundraising team, new locations etc.

·        Ensuring cost control and cost optimization at all levels of the organization.

·        Re-evaluation and continuous monitoring of the Internal control systems and Internal audits in view of expansion and dynamic compliance scenario.

·        Identifying tech/ automation requirements and work on development and implementation of the same

·        Monitoring Investments for liquidity and flexibility in line with Income tax and Corpus requirements and ensuring optimum return on Investments

·        Handling separate project/construction accounting for upcoming large projects.

·        Finalization of Accounts and completion of Statutory/ Internal Audits as per defined timelines and scope without any major observations

·        Overseeing the MIS, Budget, Projections and Donor service activity

·        Managing secretarial role for various committees including notices, MoM, filings etc

·        Closely work with CFO to understand and deliver management requirements 


Desired Competencies

·        Experience in managing large data, budgets, finance, contract administration, negotiation and project management

·        Experience in legal/ company secretarial role

·        Good understanding of NPO laws and regulations including FCRA

·        Expertise in making good quality presentations, advanced knowledge of excel / word

·        Demonstrate a positive attitude professional conduct and high ethical standards

·        Strong skills in relationship, conflict and team management

·        Strategic and solution-oriented approach

·        Team player and contributor to developing a team.

·        Quality Management – continuously looks to improve processes


Qualification and Experience

·        CA and CS or relevant qualification

  • 8-10 yrs+ experience in a similar function
