We are looking for a Full-Time Curriculum Editor who is willing to partner with us in this adventure and is eager to be a part of this revolution in Education.
The Curriculum Editor will be a person with strong knowledge of Early Childhood and K-12 Education who will work with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. The individual will review curriculum documents for accuracy, alignment to content standards, and quality. The individual will also review and edit curriculum content that is aligned with public school guidelines and Fueling Brains standards to develop executive functions. The individual must be familiar with the basic concepts of curriculum design, content alignment, copy-editing, and formatting. The individual must also be a detail-oriented person who can work collaboratively with a team of Curriculum Designers to produce high-quality curriculum materials.
Education
Associate’s Degree in early childhood, elementary, or secondary education (or related field) – Required
Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood, elementary, or secondary education (or related field) – Preferred
Teacher Certification - early childhood, elementary, or secondary education – Preferred
Montessori Certification – Preferred
Experience and Qualifications
Experience in instructional learning design - Required
Experience and knowledge of early childhood educational instruction strategies including Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Traditional, Play-Based Learning, Inquiry-based learning, Project Based Learning, and others- Required
Experience is creating developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children - Required
Knowledge of State and National Early Childhood educational standards, including PreK guidelines, TEKS, District adopted curriculum - Required
Classroom Experience with Primary Grades or Early Childhood - Preferred
PreK to grade 3 teaching experience - Preferred
Google Suites Experience - Preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to collaborate with multiple individuals at varying levels
Able to use technological tools, systems and applications
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized
Organizational and time management skills to adhere to project timelines
Adept at initiating and prioritizing tasks
Experience in educational publishing, preferably in the early childhood/elementary market
Proofing and editing documents for publication
Layout/design and basic desktop publishing
Extensive language and grammatical knowledge
Roles and Responsibilities
Aligning curriculum activities with the content standards - (ex. Texas Infant/Toddler Guidelines, PreK Guidelines and TEKS).
Creating Curriculum Standards CrossWalks between the learning standards of different states/countries - (ex. Texas Learning Standards).
Developing scope and sequence for Infant Toddler through Grade 12 level content areas.
Review, edit, and provide author feedback during the development phases of printed and digital curricula and related resources across Fueling Brains platforms.
Copyediting/proofreading curriculum units, teaching resources, instructional guides, professional development handbooks, and other related printed materials. This includes editing to improve readability, consistency, accuracy, grammar, and conformity to internal and publishing standards of style.
Providing editorial support, such as researching trends in instructional methods and educational technology, manuscript editing, assisting with style guide creation, and checking content across Fueling Brains platforms.
Collaborate in the development of templates, layouts, and structures to ensure final content is consistent, error-free, and user-friendly.
Ability to troubleshoot formatting and layout issues.
