Job Summary:


The Category Manager will oversee the performance, development, and execution of the retail electronics category strategy. This role includes analyzing market trends, managing vendor relationships, setting pricing strategies, and driving sales growth to achieve revenue and profitability targets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of retail electronics, strong negotiation skills, and an analytical mindset.


Key Responsibilities:Category Strategy Development:


Develop and execute category strategies aligned with company goals to optimize sales and profitability.

Monitor market trends and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for innovation and growth within the electronics category.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, supply chain, and sales) to implement category plans effectively.

Vendor and Supplier Management:


Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers.

Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts to ensure competitive advantage.

Assess supplier performance based on KPIs such as delivery, quality, and responsiveness.

Product Management and Merchandising:


Plan and manage product assortments to align with consumer preferences and market demand.

Optimize in-store and online merchandising strategies for maximum visibility and sales impact.

Monitor product lifecycle and manage end-of-life processes for underperforming items.

Financial Management:


Set and manage pricing strategies to achieve margin and revenue goals.

Develop category budgets and forecasts; track financial performance against targets.

Conduct regular category performance reviews and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Market Analysis and Insights:


Perform competitive analysis to understand market positioning and pricing trends.

Use data-driven insights to evaluate category performance and recommend improvements.

Identify and respond to emerging technology trends in the electronics sector.

Qualifications:Education and Experience:


Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

5+ years of experience in category management, merchandising, or a similar role in retail (electronics experience preferred).

Skills and Competencies:


Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Excel

Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

Familiarity with retail inventory management systems

Knowledge of the latest trends and advancements in consumer electronics.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):


Sales growth and category revenue.

Gross margin improvement.

Inventory turnover and stock management.

Vendor performance metrics.

Customer satisfaction and category growth in market share.

Working Conditions:


Based in Mumbai. Work Location: Prabhadevi

Occasional travel for industry events, or store visits may be required.
