Designation : ManagerLocation : Mumbai, Delhi, or Pune.Reports to : Sr Counsel- Corporate LegalJob Description – Telecommunications/Commtech Regulatory SpecialistInternational telecommunications/commtech company seeks regulatory specialist to join its Legal Regulatory Department to work on international and domestic telecommunications/commtech regulatory matters in multiple countries. The company provides subsea cable capacity, international and domestic voice services, MPLS, Internet transit, VoIP, IoT, Mobility, CPaaS, CaaS, managed security, cloud, and/or other cutting-edge commtech services.Key ResponsibilitiesTelecommunications regulatory licensing and ongoing regulatory complianceAssisting and supporting senior regulatory counsels in advising commercial counsels, business functions and product managers on regulatory matters, providing input/recommendation in regulatory sections of commercial/partnership transactions (including RFPs), and in the review and launch of new products and servicesPreparing regulatory reports (internal and external)Interacting and negotiating with government officials, external counsels, customers, and suppliers, under guidance of senior regulatory counsels.Skills and QualificationsLaw degree (LL.B. or BA/BBA/BSc LL.B. or equivalent, full time) from a recognized law school5+ years relevant experience with a telecommunications/commtech company or in TMT at a major law firmKnowledge of general telecommunications regulatory and corporate lawBasic understanding of trending emerging technologies/new products rollout, such as IoT, CPaaS, CaaS, and cloud-based servicesExcellent written and oral communications skillsAbility to work autonomously and manage multiple matters/projectsAppetite to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across a range of international jurisdictions and time-zonesEngineering background a plusFamiliarity with principles of accounting a plusTelecommunications/Commtech contracting experience a plus
