We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Software Engineering to lead the technological strategy and oversee the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) execution of our SAAS-based startup. This role will drive innovation, manage product development, and ensure alignment between the company’s technical capabilities and its business goals. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning and Leadership: Define the technical vision and roadmap to align with business objectives. Provide leadership for the development team, ensuring a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize features and timelines. Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Execution and Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all software development projects. Establish and enforce best practices for Agile development, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and quality assurance (QA). Ensure timely and efficient product releases. Technology Stack and Architecture: Design and implement scalable and secure SAAS platform architecture. Stay updated on emerging technologies and incorporate them to enhance product offerings. Optimize the use of cloud services and ensure cost-effective technology solutions. Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent. Foster a high-performance engineering culture. Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional growth for team members. Security and Compliance: Ensure the platform adheres to industry standards for data security, privacy, and compliance (e.g., ISO 2700, GDPR, SOC 2). Conduct regular audits and implement safeguards to mitigate risks. Budget and Vendor Management: Manage the technology budget, balancing innovation with cost-effectiveness. Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior technical leadership role, ideally as a Director of Engineering or in a leadership role in a SAAS-based environment. In-depth knowledge of SAAS product development and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and software architecture principles. Hands-on experience with modern programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically. Demonstrated expertise in team building, mentorship, and leadership. Strong business acumen with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience in scaling technology teams in a startup environment.
