Job Title: DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) – z/OS Platform Company: Bangalore / Chennai / Noida (Hybrid)

Experience: 5+ Years

We are seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) on the z/OS mainframe platform to join our team. The DBA will be responsible for the installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, and maintenance of IBM DB2 databases on z/OS. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high availability, data integrity, and compliance across enterprise-level, mission-critical systems.

Database Administration:

Administer DB2 utilities and maintain database objects.

Performance Tuning & Optimization:

Monitor and optimize database and SQL query performance.

Backup, Recovery & Disaster Planning:

Manage database security with RACF and DB2 access controls.

Ensure adherence to data governance, compliance, and audit requirements.

Automation & Monitoring:

Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (REXX, Shell, Python).

Proactively monitor databases using tools to prevent outages.

Provide support during deployments, upgrades, and incident troubleshooting.

Define and enforce database standards, policies, and best practices.

Hands-on experience with DB2 for z/OS (v10–v12) .

Familiarity with SMP/E, RACF, IBM MQ for z/OS, IMS, and CICS connectivity with DB2 .

Strong knowledge of DB2 DDF (Distributed Data Facility) and remote connectivity.

Experience:

Minimum 5+ years of experience in DB2 administration on z/OS .

Proven expertise in performance tuning, disaster recovery, and automation .

Ability to work independently in a hybrid setup.

IBM Certified Database Administrator – DB2 for z/OS or equivalent.
