Job Summary
As a Senior International Holiday Planner, you will be responsible for curating customized, high-quality holiday itineraries for clients seeking international travel experiences. You will leverage your expertise in international destinations, logistics, cultural insights, and customer service to design seamless travel experiences that exceed client expectations. Your role will involve collaborating with clients, understanding their preferences, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure flawless execution.
Key Responsibilities
Client Consultation & Trip Planning
- Work directly with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget.
- Design bespoke international holiday itineraries, incorporating destination expertise, cultural insights, and client interests.
- Recommend accommodations, transportation, excursions, and dining options that align with client desires.
- Provide expert advice on visa requirements, vaccinations, and travel insurance.
Supplier & Vendor Managemen t
- Negotiate with hotels, airlines, tour operators, and local suppliers to secure competitive rates and exclusive offers.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and partners to ensure smooth execution of all travel arrangements.
- Evaluate and select appropriate vendors based on quality, reliability, and client needs.
Travel Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate all aspects of travel logistics, including flights, transfers, accommodation, and activities.
- Ensure that all travel documents (e.g., tickets, vouchers, itineraries) are prepared and shared with clients in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or changes that arise during the planning or travel process.
Sales & Business Development
- Actively contribute to meeting sales targets through exceptional client service and repeat business.
- Upsell additional services (excursions, upgrades, special experiences) to enhance the holiday experience.
- Stay updated on travel trends, new destinations, and emerging market demands to offer fresh and exciting holiday options.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor junior planners and share best practices to elevate team performance.
- Train new staff on internal systems, supplier networks, and customer service standards.
- Ensure the team meets deadlines, maintains high levels of client satisfaction, and stays within budget.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in international travel planning, with a proven track record of designing high-end, customized holiday itineraries.
- In-depth knowledge of international destinations, culture, and travel logistics.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field (preferred).
Skills
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in travel planning tools, CRM systems, and MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with online booking platforms, tour operators, and travel management software.
