End-to-End FCAPS Improvement:

  • Strategically improve Fault Management processes through automated detection, correlation, and initial troubleshooting.
  • Enhance Configuration Management by automating configuration audits, deployments, and compliance checks.
  • Optimize Accounting/Billing data collection and processing through automation.
  • Improve Performance Management by automating data collection, analysis, anomaly detection, and reporting across various network domains.
  • Contribute to Security Management by automating security checks, vulnerability scanning result processing, and incident response initial steps.
  • Analyse existing RMOPs and operational workflows across all network domains for improvement and enhancement, specifically targeting manual effort reduction.

Process Digitization & Optimization:

  • Provide valuable suggestions for improving existing operational processes through digitization and the effective utilization of selected tooling.
  • Collaborate with various teams to understand operational challenges and propose automation-driven solutions that contribute to end-to-end process optimization.

Business Value Realization:

  • Ensure measurable business benefits from automation initiatives, including:
  • Cost Reduction: Identifying and implementing solutions that reduce operational expenditures.
  • Greater Accuracy: Improving data integrity and reducing human error in processes.
  • Delivery Speed: Accelerating operational workflows and service delivery.

  • Work closely with network operations, engineering, and development teams to understand their needs and integrate automation solutions seamlessly across different network layers (e.g., Core, Transport, Access).

Technical Requirements (Most Visible):

  • Scripting & Programming: Strong proficiency in at least one, and ideally multiple, scripting languages such as Python (highly preferred) , Perl, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • API Integration: Experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and other integration methods for connecting to various systems (NE, OSS, EMS, NMS).

Data Handling:

  • Experience with data parsing (e.g., JSON, XML, CSV, text files).
  • Skills in web scraping techniques.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL) for data storage and retrieval.

Network Domain Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of end-to-end telecommunications network architecture (e.g., Core, Transport, Access, Data Center).
  • In-depth knowledge of FCAPS principles and their application in network operations.
  • Familiarity with OSS/BSS concepts and typical functionalities (e.g., fault management, performance management, configuration management, service assurance).
  • Understanding of network protocols (e.g., SNMP, Netconf, SSH, Telnet).

Automation Tools: Experience with automation frameworks or tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, RPA platforms like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism).

  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Version Control: Experience with Git or other version control systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related engineering field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience in an OSS, Automation, or Network Operations role within the telecommunications industry, with a proven track record of improving operational processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational challenges into automated solutions.
  • Process Improvement Mindset: Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and propose practical improvements across complex systems.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Proactive & Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and take initiative in a dynamic environment.
