The Data Delivery Lead is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex data initiatives within a data project or programme. This role involves planning, overseeing, governing, and reporting on the execution of data platforms, products, architecture, and management. The Data Delivery Lead ensures alignment with the RSA business and data strategy and works closely with workstream owners, stakeholders, and delivery teams to guarantee the successful, incremental delivery of features and data capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive, structured delivery plans covering the entire data lifecycle for projects or programmes. And ensure these plans include feature release schedules, dependencies, risk management, and change management processes.
- Governance of Data Delivery: Oversee the governance of complex data delivery initiatives, ensuring they adhere to defined timelines, scope, reporting and budgets.
- Release Management: Manage the incremental release of data features and capabilities in line with programme priorities, ensuring delivery is iterative and scalable.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify and manage risks, interdependencies, and issues throughout the delivery process, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies and escalating concerns when necessary.
- Stakeholder and Communication Management: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders across different functions (business, technical, operations), ensuring their needs and priorities are met and aligned with project outcomes.
- Agile Delivery Leadership: Collaborate with workstream owners to drive Agile practices across data initiatives.Change Management: Manage engagement and change management processes for new feature releases, ensuring smooth transition from development to operational use.
- Insurance Domain Expertise: Apply knowledge of insurance data structures, regulatory frameworks, and risk management practices to guide the delivery of compliant and reliable data solutions.
- Collaboration: Works across a cross-functional team of data engineers, data architects, data product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated, high-quality delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing the end-to-end delivery of complex data initiatives.
- Expertise in managing and communicating with senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment of business and technical teams.
- Extensive experience in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and tools like Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Experience in managing risks, issues, interdependencies, and change across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
- Production grade implementation experience of cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks) and data projects.
- Knowledge of analytics and BI tools like Power BI for visualizing data and delivering insights
- Understanding of data management principles and implementation using tools such as Microsoft Purview, Ataccama
