About the Role:We are looking for a skilled and experienced Digital Workplace Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing the strategic design and deployment of Engineering Cloud PCs, packaging applications, and optimizing user experiences in Windows 365 Cloud Desktops. You will collaborate with IT, security, and engineering teams to build, manage, and optimize a secure, scalable, and highly available virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment tailored to the needs of engineering teams.Key Responsibilities:Windows 365 Cloud Desktop Implementation: Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Windows 365 Cloud PCs to meet the specific needs of engineering and developer teams. Design and implement desktop images that are optimized for performance and security while ensuring seamless integration with corporate policies.Collaborate with IT and security teams to align the desktop environment with security requirements (e.g., encryption, identity management, conditional access).Application Packaging & Management: Package, deploy, and manage applications within Windows 365 Cloud Desktops, ensuring compatibility, performance, and security. Leverage tools like Microsoft Intune or SCCM for application deployment, updates, and configuration management. Ensure that applications are efficiently packaged, signed, and deployed to users with minimal disruption.Digital Workplace Design & Optimization: Collaborate with IT and workplace strategy teams to design and enhance the digital workplace experience for engineering teams, optimizing for productivity, performance, and security. Define, document, and implement best practices for VDI environments, covering areas like user profiles, software distribution, and desktop personalization.Provide solutions for workspace continuity, ensuring availability and performance during peak usage or in the event of outages.Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement and monitor performance metrics and KPIs for the cloud desktop infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.Troubleshoot user issues related to the virtual desktop environment, resolving problems quickly to maintain productivity.Use performance monitoring tools and metrics to identify areas of improvement and optimize resources.Security & Compliance: Ensure that the virtual desktop infrastructure complies with industry regulations and internal security policies, particularly for engineering workflows handling sensitive data.Implement secure access controls (such as multi-factor authentication), conditional access policies, and encryption across the cloud PC environment.Regularly update and patch desktop images to ensure security vulnerabilities are addressed promptly.Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with engineering, IT, and security teams to ensure smooth onboarding, updates, and continuous improvement of the cloud desktop solution.Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, policies, and best practices for future audits and operational consistency.Conduct user training and support engineering teams in adopting the new digital workplace tools and environments.Key Requirements:Experience:6+ years of experience managing and deploying VDI environments such as Windows Virtual Desktop, Citrix, or Windows 365.Hands-on experience with Windows 365 Cloud PC implementation, including desktop image management, application packaging, and user profile management.Expertise in application packaging tools and methods, leveraging tools like Microsoft Intune, SCCM, or similar software distribution platforms.Skills and Certifications:Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar certifications preferred.Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, particularly around Windows 365, Intune, and identity management (Azure AD).Strong skills in scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and application management.Experience with security best practices for virtual environments, including data protection, identity management, and network security.Must-Have:Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop or Citrix environments for comparison and cross-environment expertise.Experience supporting remote work and hybrid work environments.Familiarity with engineering or developer-specific tools and software, ensuring they are effectively packaged and optimized within a virtual environment.About Collabera Digital:Collabera Digital is a Leading Digital Solutions company providing Software Engineering Solutions to the world’s most tech-forward organizations.
