Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in zOS systems programming support, working with zOS components, subsystems, and any attendant OEM products.
  • Must possess thorough understanding of mainframe operating system principles and subsystem components.
  • Experience in building new zOS Environment
  • Experience with configuring and managing zOS in a parallel sysplex environments, CFRM policies
  • Understanding on JES2/JES3 Architecture & components and customization
  • Must be able to work independently and take responsibility for zOS system and other subsystem recovery including critical OEM products.
  • Experience using various system monitoring software in problem determination, particularly for performance/response problems.
  • Able to perform Stand-alone and SVC dumps to aid vendor diagnostics.
  • Experience with reviewing new versions of zOS for functionality, advising how they benefit the client
  • Experience with reviewing, tuning of zOS operating system
  • Ability to develop innovation, strategies, processes, and best practices in software management

Support planned (disaster recovery) and unplanned (emergency) database recovery activities

  • Knowledgeable in best practices of software management, maintenance, and documentation
  • Experience with establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, DR, security, maintenance, and utilization
  • Ability to evaluate change requests and determine impact to assigned clients and troubleshooting and solving production database issues.

System programming knowledge of multiple Mainframe Database Management Systems is a bonus.
