Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
8+ years of professional experience in z OS systems programming support, working with z OS components, subsystems, and any attendant OEM products.
Must possess thorough understanding of mainframe operating system principles and subsystem components.
Experience in building new z OS Environment
Experience with configuring and managing z OS in a parallel sysplex environments, CFRM policies
Understanding on JES2/JES3 Architecture & components and customization
Must be able to work independently and take responsibility for z OS system and other subsystem recovery including critical OEM products.
Experience using various system monitoring software in problem determination, particularly for performance/response problems.
Able to perform Stand-alone and SVC dumps to aid vendor diagnostics.
Experience with reviewing new versions of z OS for functionality, advising how they benefit the client
Experience with reviewing, tuning of z OS operating system
Ability to develop innovation, strategies, processes, and best practices in software management
Support planned (disaster recovery) and unplanned (emergency) database recovery activities
Knowledgeable in best practices of software management, maintenance, and documentation
Experience with establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, DR, security, maintenance, and utilization
Ability to evaluate change requests and determine impact to assigned clients and troubleshooting and solving production database issues.
System programming knowledge of multiple Mainframe Database Management Systems is a bonus.
