Job Overview: Academian is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer on a contract basis to contribute to the development of high-quality learning programs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of instructional design principles and the ability to create engaging, effective learning materials. In this fully remote role, you will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, educators, and stakeholders to design and develop comprehensive learning solutions that meet educational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and revise instructional content for a variety of learning programs.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content requirements and ensure instructional materials align with pedagogical best practices.
- Create detailed course outlines, storyboards, and instructional content that support learning objectives and address the needs of the target audience.
- Develop interactive e-learning modules, including multimedia content such as videos, quizzes, and assessments, using authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.).
- Work closely with the project team to ensure content is delivered on time and meets high-quality standards.
- Apply knowledge of learning theories, adult learning principles, and effective instructional design strategies.
- Ensure that learning materials are accessible and inclusive, adhering to accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
- Regularly review and update content to reflect the latest educational trends and standards.
- Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously while maintaining high levels of accuracy and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in instructional design, with a focus on e-learning or blended learning environments.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and curriculum development.
- Proficiency in using eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and publishing content online.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of knowledge management and content structuring.
- A portfolio demonstrating previous instructional design work (preferred).
Additional Skills (Preferred but not required):
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Experience designing vocational or technical training programs.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in e-learning content creation.
