ServiceNow Admin Job Description
The duties and responsibilities of the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
include, but are not limited to, the following:
 Monitor the health, administration, usage, and overall compliance of ServiceNow and its
applications.
 Configure and enhance core application including, but not limited to, Service Catalog,
Service Portal, Knowledge Base, Management, Project & Portfolio, and Reporting.
 Developing ServiceNow software solutions using JavaScript, Web Services, HTML and
CSS
 Work with Service Asset & Configuration Management and Asset Management teams to
deliver expanded Discovery functionality
 Developing and delivering customized portal web pages in ServiceNow using Bootstrap
and AngularJS JavaScript frameworks
 Managing CMDB health by using Discovery (or equivalent methods) to support Assets
and Configuration
 Create and configure Notifications, UI pages, UI Macros, Script Includes, Formatters, in
ServiceNow
 Responsible for application support and operational activities, code migrations,
replications, patching, and upgrades
 Creates and maintains process and knowledge documentation for team and users
 Utilize ServiceNow Import Templates for the loading of data
 Data entry from source documents into ServiceNow database
 Data extract from ServiceNow into Import Template format or other formats for reporting
 Support implemented and proposed solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
 Load, manipulate, and maintain data between ServiceNow and other systems.
 Participate in deployment of features and ServiceNow releases.
 Make recommendations and participate in implementing ServiceNow requirements.
 Provide architectural controls and impact analysis for new requirements.
 Research and stay current in ServiceNow products and applicable integrated
technologies.
 Create and maintain a detailed view of the ServiceNow architecture.
 Contribute to ServiceNow software releases through configuration tasks and feature
delivery.
 Optimize stability and usability of ServiceNow through regular application maintenance.
 Collaborate with team members to design best solutions for technical issues.
Qualifications for ServiceNow administration
• Excellent management and influencing skills full understanding and ability to lead on
all ITIL processes
• Able to work independently without significant supervision
• Highly analytical in your approach
• Actively manage application enhancements and fixes
• University Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, business or related field
with minimum of 3-5 years of ServiceNow administration experience
• Work in global teams and support global cross-functional environment partnering
with internal customers for requirements gathering, analysis and business process
definition
• ServiceNow CSA certified ( good to have )
