About Silq:
At Silq, we aim to build the largest sustainable global shipping network with a 40% gross margin, leveraging people, data, and technology. Our technology simplifies shipping by allowing customers to create custom workflows and is enhanced by real-time factory information from our team. This combination minimizes exceptions, improves shipment consolidation, and helps customers save on shipping costs from day one.
Some of the problems we need to solve next year:
- Financing for both factories and our clients which means lending money and all the technical challenges that come with it.
- Real time tracking of shipments - tracking ships, planes and trucks. Although this is a solved problem for passenger assets, cargo vehicle tracking is still in its nascent stages.
- Automating document digitization - Our mission involves revolutionizing an archaic industry which involves a lot of physical documents which require considerable operational effort to digitize.
- Scaling up our collaboration systems - comments, direct messaging and notification systems.
- Robust payment infrastructure so that our users across the globe can pay factories and Silq.
- Introduce the first suite of supply chain agents to solve every day problems for our operations team.
You should apply if you have:
- 4+ years of work experience using React and TypeScript.
- Experience working with Python and Django is not necessary but definitely a plus.
- Love simple, well-tested code that is easy to extend and hard to break.
- Experience effectively and reliably delivering large projects, including breaking the projects down into smaller pieces.
- Clear and persuasive in writing and in person. Proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders.
- Ability to make decisions independently and thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
- Able to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with design, product, operations, and marketing teams.
- Able to lead by example, by setting the right context, and by helping colleagues do their best work.
Day to Day:
- Design systems that capture the real-world intricacies of logistics entities, such as cargo, routing, customs, and pricing.
- Empower your team to achieve a high level of technical productivity, reliability and simplicity
- Focus on outcome over output.
- Use technology to unlock operational efficiencies. Work with the operations team and use the first principles approach to problem solving.
- Ensure that good engineering practices are adopted and followed across the organization. motivate, inspire, recognize and reward good performance.
- Maintain a strong focus on technical productivity, reliability, and simplicity .
