Join IGRS - IIT Madras as a Technical Lead - Software Engineering and play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge technologies that transform healthcare and improve patient outcomes. About Us The Image Guided Robotic Surgery (IGRS) group at IIT Madras is at the forefront of healthcare innovation. We specialize in developing advanced systems in surgical navigation , robotics , optical tracking systems , and VR/AR-based medical simulation platforms . Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to push the boundaries of technology, aiming to redefine healthcare through impactful solutions. What You'll Do As a Technical Lead - Software Engineering , you will: Lead and Mentor: Guide a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including computer vision, robotic engineers, imaging specialists, and clinical experts. Software Architecture: Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software architectures for navigation, robotic systems and image-guided surgical applications . Integrate Robotic Systems: Work on the integration of software with navigation, robotic platforms and optical tracking systems , ensuring seamless operation and reliability. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all software development processes comply with IEC 62304, ISO 13485 , FDA , and other relevant medical device regulations. Hands-On Development: Engage in hands-on coding using C++ and frameworks like Cuda, Qt , VTK , ITK , and Open CV . Optimize Performance: Focus on performance optimization, real-time processing, and ensuring system reliability and scalability. What We're Looking For Experience: 8+ years in software development with significant experience in software architecture , leading technical teams, and delivering complex projects involving real-time systems . Technical Expertise: Proficiency in programming languages C++ and Python. Experience with frameworks and tools such as Cuda, Qt , VTK , ITK , Open CV , and Open GL . Hands-on experience with RTOS, multi-threading , real-time systems , and concurrent programming . Familiarity with Dev Ops tools like Git, Azure, Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of cloud, edge computing, AI, and machine learning techniques. Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of IEC 62304, ISO 13485 , FDA , CE compliance , and other medical device standards. Educational Background: Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph. D. in Computer Science , Software Engineering , or related fields. Why Join Us?
