Job Overview

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for developing, automating, and maintaining the infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support our software development lifecycle. This position will collaborate closely with software engineers to deploy and operate scalable, highly available systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud services, containerisation, and automation tools to improve the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of our applications.


Key Responsibilities

  • CI/CD Pipeline Management : Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployments using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and CircleCI.
  • Cloud Infrastructure : Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of applications.
  • Automation & Scripting : Automate repetitive tasks and processes, using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation, and scripting languages like Python or Bash.
  • Containerisation : Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm, ensuring that services are scalable, fault-tolerant, and resilient.
  • Monitoring & Logging : Implement and configure monitoring and logging systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to ensure the health and performance of the infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Build and maintain IaC using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation to automate the provisioning of infrastructure resources.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with software development and IT teams to align on DevOps strategies and provide continuous feedback to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Security & Compliance : Ensure best practices in security, including identity and access management, data encryption, and vulnerability scanning, to protect infrastructure and applications.
  • Troubleshooting & Support : Provide support for production systems, identify bottlenecks, and proactively solve operational issues to minimise downtime.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer , Site Reliability Engineer , or similar role.
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI, or CircleCI.
  • Experience in containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python , Bash , or Shell .
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and experience with Windows systems.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and security practices.


Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or other relevant cloud certifications.
  • Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA) or similar certifications.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and deployment strategies.
  • Familiarity with service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies and DevOps best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
