About Our Client:

Our Client focuses on optimizing health and wellness through innovative technology. It offers a comprehensive platform that integrates wearable devices and personalized insights to help users monitor and improve their metabolic health. By combining data from various sources, including activity levels, sleep patterns, and nutrition, the platform provides tailored recommendations to enhance overall well-being.


The Role:

The Production Head will be responsible for managing the end-to-end production process of various products including health-tracking rings, from planning and resource management to quality control and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in electronics or wearable manufacturing, be skilled in managing production lines, and excel in improving operational efficiency. You will work closely with various departments, including supply chain, R&D, and quality assurance, to ensure high standards of production while meeting international export demands. This role requires leadership, strategic planning, and a strong focus on quality and safety compliance.

Our client, currently has one manufacturing facility in Bangalore and is setting up a second one in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

•Create and oversee detailed production schedules that align with sales forecasts, inventory levels, and international shipping timelines.

•Ensure all production activities meet tight deadlines and export demands, considering the global nature of the business.

•Adapt schedules based on unexpected changes in demand or resource availability, maintaining flexibility while minimizing delays.

2. Resource Management & Allocation

•Assess and allocate required resources, including raw materials, labor, and machinery, to meet production targets efficiently.

•Optimize workforce utilization by identifying key staffing needs and ensuring production shifts run smoothly.

•Implement effective inventory management strategies to avoid shortages or overstock.

3. Yield Maximization & Efficiency

•Continuously analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or waste, and implement solutions for improvement.

•Set and monitor production key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, downtime, throughput, and cycle time to maximize output.

•Drive process optimization efforts to ensure higher productivity and product yield while maintaining minimal waste.

4. Quality Control & Compliance

•Define and uphold stringent quality control measures across all production stages, ensuring the health-tracking rings meet international safety and quality standards.

•Implement and monitor quality-control programs, such as Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing, to ensure minimal defects and consistent quality.

•Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to audit production processes and maintain certifications for international markets.

5. Cost Management & Budgeting

•Ensure production remains cost-effective by monitoring production costs and staying within budget limits.

•Collaborate with the finance team to regularly review and analyze cost data, identifying opportunities for cost-saving initiatives without sacrificing quality.

•Focus on optimizing procurement and minimizing wastage to keep production costs under control.

6. Team Leadership & Development

•Lead, mentor, and motivate the production team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

•Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs to upskill staff and ensure consistent competency in production processes.

•Ensure efficient communication and coordination among team members to meet production targets and maintain high morale.

7. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

•Implement and enforce stringent health and safety protocols in line with global standards to ensure a safe working environment.

•Ensure compliance with local and international environmental regulations, minimizing the environmental footprint of the production process.

•Regularly audit safety measures and provide training to ensure all employees follow the established safety protocols.

8. Cross-Departmental Collaboration

•Act as a liaison between the production team and other departments, such as procurement, R&D, and sales, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.

•Work closely with suppliers to maintain a steady flow of raw materials and address any supply chain issues.

•Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide production insights to optimize product design, supply chain efficiency, and cost management.

9. Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement

•Collect, track, and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for operational improvement.

•Utilize data-driven insights to implement production strategies that enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and improve yield.

•Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging tools like Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to improve overall efficiency and quality.

10. Equipment Selection & Maintenance

•Oversee the selection, procurement, and installation of new machinery and production tools as needed.

•Ensure that all equipment is regularly maintained and operates at optimal efficiency to avoid downtime.

•Collaborate with the engineering team to develop preventative maintenance schedules and quickly address any equipment malfunctions or failures.
