What will you do?
If you are passionate about building, owning and operating massively scalable systems and experienced in being in a team of highly competent software engineers impacting millions of lives around you, here is an opportunity tailored for you.
As SRE, you will be primarily responsible for collaborating with operations and engineering stakeholders to proactively build resilience into IT infrastructure and applications of our growing product portfolio. Airtel Africa Digital Labs (AADL) has a highly passionate engineering-driven environment where your contribution will have an impact .
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications
- Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
- BizOps – enabling features, modifying configurations, handling business queries about product usage, feedback loop with business and engineering team etc.
- Diagnose , troubleshoot problems and develop a fix for them
- Effective documentation for troubleshooting
- RCA of issues.
- Work on building and improving our tools for deploying, monitoring and managing our systems
What will make you successful?
B.E./B.Tech in Computer science or Information Technology with 1.5 years of experience in a scalable product organization.
- Experience in keeping multiple applications on K8s clusters up and running 24x7 with continuous focus on automation to reduce manual effort.
- Operational experience with Cloud and Micro-Services architecture.
- Fast learner , ability to think on your feetGood communication skills and flexibility -oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A sense of humor and camaraderie
What do you bring to the table?
- Strong experience working with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, EFK stackHands-on experience with container solutions such Kubernetes, Docker etcImprove Engineering effectiveness/Biz Devops – through tools like BitBucket, Consul, JIRA, Sonar, Jenkins etc
- Coding experience beyond simple scripts
- Experience supporting multiple applications, dealing with APIs and microservices.
- Ability to produce tools to assist the product development teams
- Database experience (SQL, NoSQL , etc)Experience in networking and security
Tools & Technologies:
Out of many tools and technologies, we use Java, Postgres, Kubernetes, MongoDb, Cassandra, Redis, Kafka, Netty extensively for our back-end development
