TITLE:Application Engineer – MEA & RoABUSINESS:Industrial Pumps MEA & RoALOCATION:Thane, IndiaDIRECT REPORTING:Manager Technical SalesPOSITION DETAILSPosition SummaryThis position takes end-to-end responsibility from receiving inquiries through techno-commercial quote creation to handover for order processing. To achieve this, the application engineer collaborates cross-functionally with different external and internal functions and stakeholders. He or She acts as a trusted advisor to customers in all subjects regarding Pump and Application Engineering. In addition, continuous improvement and development of internal standards, processes and tools is part of this role.Principal ActivitiesReviews and clarifies customer requirements and propose a solution based on the product portfolio considering the technical and commercial frameworkLeads expert discussion on plant system configuration and design with the customer and gives advice in terms of technical parameters, system design, material selection, sealing technology, accessories, etc. considering technical and commercial aspects of proposed solutionsDetails the preferred technical solution in cooperation with internal and external interfaces considering commercial aspectsElaborates complete technical and commercial quotations. Revises quotation based on feedback/modifications from customer during quote phase and order executionSupports field sales team and other sales channels in project negotiations, frame agreements and trade showsSupports regional teams with technical expertise for special pumps and applicationsInitiates and conducts trainings in pump and application technologyInteraction with customers over phone, email and physical visit if necessary to understand application requirementsContributes to operational excellence within the organization through continuous improvement of processes, standard and tools.CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSKnowledge Skills & AbilitiesExcellent English language skillsHands on experience of work in MS office programs, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics CRMCustomer-oriented, Positive and Communicative PersonalityEducation & ExperienceBachelor of Engineering or equivalent education and 3 plus years experience in Application engineering or Sales support and of complex and consultancy intensive productsTechnical experience in rotating equipment or fluid handling equipment would be ideal to have
