Design and Development:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative mechanical electronics designs for new products or improve existing ones.
Use Creo / Catia(CAD) software tools to create detailed 2D and 3D models, assembly drawings, DFM,DFMEA, DFA, DFS and technical specifications.
Upfront involvement with supplier for part manufacturing and quality achievement.
Perform GDNT and layout integration for mechanical electronics design and development.
Conceptualization:
Generate concepts and perform feasibility studies to evaluate the viability of new product ideas or design modifications for Proprietary design.
Conduct research and analysis to identify the best materials (Polymers), components, and manufacturing processes to achieve desired performance, cost, regulatory and quality targets.
Engineering Analysis:
Support engineering calculations, simulations, and finite element analysis (FEA) to assess mechanical system performance, structural integrity, and thermal characteristics.
Identify and resolve design issues, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Prototyping and Testing:
Create prototypes or coordinate with prototype manufacturing teams to build physical models for evaluation and testing.
Conduct tests and measurements to verify design performance, identify areas for improvement, and make necessary design Iterations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, including design specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and technical reports.
Maintain accurate records of design changes, test results, and project milestones.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and project managers, to ensure effective integration of mechanical designs into larger systems.
Communicate design concepts, ideas, and technical information clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated and do benchmark with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to mechanical design.
Seek opportunities to enhance design processes, tools, and methodologies to drive efficiency, productivity, and innovation.
Job Summary:
Required exp 10-12 years in design and development of vehicle body and trims parts as per product requirements.
Understanding and application of various material in polymer grade.
In depth knowledge of injection molding and its design requirements.
Direct and coordinate activities of the engineering department which include design, manufacture and test, and failure analysis.
Coordinate with cross functional team to arrive design solution.
Demonstrate task of S0 and S1 surface class and its aesthetic requirements.
Demonstrate new material technology and application.
Demonstrate fit and finish of vehicle as per vehicle class category.
Demonstrate vehicle aesthetic colors, graphics and its variant application.
Demonstrate vehicle tolerance calculation and design solution.
Provide upfront involvement in product design and development at each phase and provide efficient timeline.
Develop and mentor team for given domain.
Provide transparency in communication within and external team.
