We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Dance & Music Facilitator to inspire and nurture students' artistic expression within the framework of the IB PYP and MYP. The ideal candidate will integrate dance and music into the transdisciplinary themes and interdisciplinary units, fostering creativity, collaboration, and a love for the performing arts.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning :
Plan and deliver engaging dance and music lessons aligned with IB PYP/MYP standards.
Facilitate inquiry-based learning that encourages students to explore their creativity and cultural diversity.
Introduce students to various genres, techniques, and traditions in dance and music.
Curriculum Integration :
Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate performing arts into transdisciplinary themes and interdisciplinary units.
Create opportunities for students to express their learning through performances and showcases.
Develop assessment strategies that align with IB objectives and evaluate students’ progress effectively.
Performance & Community Engagement :
Organize school-wide performances, events, and cultural programs.
Encourage participation in local and international performing arts competitions or festivals.
Build partnerships with artists and art organizations to enrich the school’s arts program.
Professional Development :
Stay updated with current trends in performing arts education and IB practices.
Participate in professional development workshops and contribute to the school’s collaborative culture.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts, Music, Dance, or Education (specialization in dance/music preferred).
Experience teaching in PYP/MYP or IB schools is highly desirable.
Proficiency in various dance forms and music styles, with the ability to teach both disciplines.
Strong understanding of inquiry-based and student-centered learning.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
