Job Title :: Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer Location :: Bengaluru/Chennai (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite in a week) Shift Timings :: 12:00 - 09:00 pm IST Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer with expertise in test automation to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust test frameworks, automate API testing, and ensure end-to-end testing for our applications. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of REST API testing, hands-on experience with Rest Assured and Playwright, and a strong understanding of test strategy and framework setup. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement test frameworks using Rest Assured for API testing and Playwright for UI testing. Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to create and maintain comprehensive test strategies. Automate test cases for RESTful APIs and front-end applications to improve testing efficiency and coverage. Execute and maintain automated test suites, analyze test results, and debug issues to ensure quality across applications. Establish, document, and maintain best practices for test automation and execution. Integrate test frameworks into CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless automated testing within Dev Ops workflows. Actively participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to contribute to continuous quality improvement. Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on testing best practices and automation strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering with a focus on test automation. Strong hands-on experience with Rest Assured for API testing and Playwright for UI testing. Solid understanding of testing REST APIs, with experience in developing and executing API test automation. Proven experience setting up test frameworks and developing automated test cases from scratch. Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI) and integrating automated tests into the build pipeline. Experience with test case management tools (e.g., JIRA, Test Rail) and version control systems like Git. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver results within deadlines in an agile environment. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of BDD frameworks like Cucumber. Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes. Experience with performance testing tools or frameworks (e.g., JMeter).
