About the Role

We are seeking a People & Culture Lead who will drive our people management strategy, ensure that we have the right talent in place, and create an environment that encourages collaboration, growth, and high performance. This role will oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, and the overall employee experience.

This is a dynamic and highly impactful position where you’ll work closely with the co-founders to shape and implement people-centric processes that align with our mission and values. You will ensure that 4th Wheel continues to be a great place to work and that our team remains engaged, motivated, and equipped to do their best work.

Responsibilities

People Strategy

  • Partner with leadership to drive key people strategies and initiatives aligned with company goals
  • Provide insights and recommendations on organizational development, talent management, and workplace culture
  • Contribute to strategic planning for workforce growth, team structure, and future talent needs
  • Ensure that our HR practices are aligned with 4th Wheel’s values and the evolving needs of the organization

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Proactively source and attract top talent to meet the needs of the organization
  • Screen, interview, and select candidates for various roles across different functions
  • Oversee a seamless onboarding process to ensure a positive experience for new hires
  • Work with co-founders to identify staffing needs and create job descriptions

Employee Engagement & Retention

  • Develop and implement strategies that improve employee engagement and job satisfaction
  • Lead initiatives that promote a culture of transparency, inclusivity, and innovation
  • Organize team-building activities and employee wellness programs
  • Monitor team morale and proactively address any concerns or challenges

Performance Management

  • Develop and track employee goals to ensure alignment with the company’s objectives
  • Monitor regular one-on-one meetings with employees to provide guidance, support, and feedback
  • Implement and manage performance appraisals, ensuring the process is clear, constructive, and fair
  • Collaborate with leadership on setting the direction for performance reviews and growth opportunities

Learning & Development

  • Assess and identify training needs across teams and develop tailored learning opportunities
  • Coordinate both internal and external training resources to upskill employees
  • Create a continuous learning environment that promotes professional development
  • Partner with team leads to ensure that employees have the necessary resources and opportunities for growth

HR Systems & Processes

  • Manage the HR platform to ensure accurate employee records and a streamlined process
  • Establish and maintain HR workflows that promote efficiency and transparency
  • Conduct employee probation reviews and annual performance assessments in collaboration with leadership
  • Track HR metrics to analyze trends in recruitment, retention, and employee satisfaction, and use this data to inform strategic improvements

Qualifications:

  • Experience : 3–4 years in HR, ideally with hands-on experience in people management, recruitment, and employee engagement
  • Education : MBA in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or similar management background preferred

Skills :

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Process-oriented, with experience implementing and improving HR management systems
  • Proficiency with HR tools and software
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices

Sector Experience : Knowledge of the social sector is a plus but not mandatory

Personal Traits:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on employee satisfaction and organizational growth
  • Passionate about creating a positive work environment and supporting a diverse workforce
  • Ability to lead by example, demonstrating empathy and a people-first mindset
