With a commitment to innovation and operational excellence, we are seeking a skilled Sourcing Specialist to manage the sourcing and procurement of mechanical components critical to EV manufacturing.


Role Overview:

The Sourcing Specialist for Mechanical Components will lead the strategic sourcing, supplier development, and procurement of mechanical parts such as brakes, suspension, steering and sheet metal processes like stamping, molding, tooling, and other mechanical proprietary components. This role requires strong expertise in cost negotiation, supplier evaluation, and contract management, along with a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes for mechanical parts.


Key Responsibilities:


Supplier Identification and Development:

• Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for mechanical components in line with business requirements.

• Conduct supplier audits to ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards.

• Establish long-term relationships with reliable and innovative suppliers.


Sourcing and Procurement:

• Prepare and manage RFQs for mechanical components, ensuring alignment with technical specifications.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support supplier selection for NPI and migration projects.

• Handle PR/PO management for tooling, samples, and NPI parts.

• Negotiate terms for master purchasing agreements, quality assurance contracts, NDAs, and other supply-related contracts.


Cost Optimization and Value Engineering:

• Drive cost reduction initiatives by analyzing cost structures, market trends, and supplier data.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and lead VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) projects.

• Push back cost increases from suppliers and ensure pricing competitiveness.


Supplier Performance Management:

• Conduct quarterly supplier performance reviews using scorecards to improve quality, cost, and delivery metrics.

• Work with the quality team to resolve supplier-related quality issues and drive continuous improvement.

• Support material teams with supplier delivery management and expedite orders as needed.


Collaboration with Engineering Teams:

• Handle engineering evaluation requests for new mechanical components.

• Manage Engineering Change (EC) requests, including PR/PO processing and sample qualifications.


Risk Management:

• Identify risks in the supply chain and implement corrective actions to mitigate potential disruptions.

• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.


Market Research and Benchmarking:

• Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, risks, and opportunities in mechanical component sourcing.

• Perform cost/price analysis with a focus on total cost of ownership.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management.

• 5+ years of experience in sourcing mechanical components, including stamping, molding, tooling, sheet metal, and mechanical proprietary parts.

• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes for mechanical components.

• Strong negotiation skills and experience with contract management.

• Proficiency in ERP systems, data analysis tools, and office software.

• Experience with e-sourcing tools is a plus.
